About Deena

I like tutoring because a child gets that one to one learning attention. Tutoring is a great way to provide personalized instruction and help boost a child's level of confidence with skills and concepts they might be currently struggling with or help them excel. I started tutoring when I realized some students need a boost and even more so the past few years with COVID. For the past few years I've been tutoring in student homes after school. In my spare time, I like to read, road-trip/travel, and try out new coffee shops and restaurants. One thing you should know about me is that I am a K-8th grade certified teacher and have over 10 years of experience! I've taught 5th, 4th, and 2nd grade; and tutored grades 1-8. My skills include personalizing learning time to each child's needs, integrating technology opportunities, and utilizing assessments and data for instruction. One of my personal favorites is communicating with families and providing feedback with each session.
