About Debora

I am a Dutch woman who raised three children and a dog in 4 different countries. I am fluent in English and have worked with people of all ages. I have a special soft spot for senior people because I think they are vulnerable and therefore need special care and above all respect. I have worked in the past with seniors who needed extra help so they could stay in their own homes. I have worked also in residential houses with people who suffered from Dementia/Alzheimer's. In addition , I took care of my mother and father together with my sister when they were dying of cancer. I am a personal chef and holistic nutritionist who can prepare meals for the elderly with special dietary needs. I can cook in batches so you have healthy food in the refrigerator. I am a strong believer that senior people benefit from healthy, tasty and nutritious meals in order to stay mentally and physically strong. I can be a companion to a senior person take them to an appointment, for a walk, play games etc.

Deborah was initially a classmate of mine at B. College of Holistic Nutrition. I was new to the area, just moving to Boulder from New York city. I was all alone and she went out of her way to welcome me and make me almost a part of her family. Three months after the move, I broke my leg skiing. She picked me up every day to go to school, did my food shopping, cooked meals for me a took me to my doctor appointments. I was on the third floor of an apartment building (with outside stairs) and when I was first hurt, she practically carried me down these sometimes treacherous stairs. Her overwhelming kindness was incredible. She refused any compensation, she was "being a friend." Three years later I moved back to NY and we are still close friends. I will never forget the wonderful, competent care she gave me out of the goodness of her beautiful heart. Any person would be extremely lucky to have Debora as his/her caregiver.
