I have cared for several seniors. One, my father, was difficult. He was up and down all day and night and only I could hand him his medicine. I know how exhausting it can be to care for someone who has dementia. My late husband also had dementia but was only different when we left our house. He had Lewy Body Dementia and passed after 2 years at the age of 59. I have also cared for others but usually had an evening shift. One thing people don't realize is that you need to care for yourself first before caring for another. Caregivers need a break and get out of the house.
