About Carol

I have spent my entire adult life teaching. I started out as a horse trainer/horseback riding instructor. I ran a riding club for about 15 years. This included horse training, horseback riding instruction, summer camps, attending horse shows, and putting on horse shows. I then went into school teaching. I was a public school teacher for 20 years. I taught 4th grade through high school. My public high school teaching experience was in special education (RSP), and the Social Sciences. The past three years I have been working as a private home-school teacher. This included a 5th grade boy and girl as well as a high school boy. I worked with the high school boy and 5th grade girl full time. The high school boy worked at an accelerated pace and was able to graduate at age 16. I designed and implemented the entire curriculum for the 5th grade girl and high school boy. In doing so, I have become very knowledgeable with regard to the requirements and legalities of home schooling. I am passionate about teaching because I love the energy, enthusiasm, and curiosity of young people. I love a challenge and enjoy the variety that teaching offers. I am very comfortable around young people.
