About Avery

Hi y'all! My name is Avery (they/she/he). I'm a gender-fluid person of Indigenous, Mexican, and European descent. I'm also a caregiver, certified birth worker (through Lifewerq), animal lover, educator and multidisciplinary artist. I have a Bachelor's degree in Globalization, Environment and Policy from the University of Oregon. In interpersonal, communal, and professional settings combined, I have over 6+ years of experience taking care of children. More specifically, I have three years of experience working at tutoring centers and two years working as a daycare assistant for children (between 1 to 8 yrs old) experiencing houselessness. In birth work, my favorite clients are those who are in postpartum - it's such a special time to be working with people. :) I love being outdoors, reading and engaging in art and science activities with children.
