About Ava

Hello! I've taught multiple courses of STEM focused classes (Aerospace, Robotics, STEAM Engineering, and more) as a Guest Instructor in classrooms ranging from 4th-8th grade and with Civil Air Patrol cadets aged 12-21. I am currently pursuing my bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering at SFSU and am working as an after-school program STEM instructor with Kodely. I have 4+ years of experience teaching in and outside of classrooms and have a passion for helping students connect to core concepts to build strong foundations. Additionally, my experience self-studying due to my independent study education from grades 6-12 had provided me with a strong understanding and appreciation for utilizing various methods and resources to fully grasp material. I am reliable, understanding, flexible, and confident in my ability to assess the needs of each individual and provide the guidance necessary to achieve our class objectives together.
