Hello Moms and Dads. I have been a teacher for the past 9 years of students ages elementary all the way up to high school with varying levels of special needs. I have tutored children in Kindergarten and 3rd-6th grade. I have spent this summer as a caregiver for a family with two lovely daughters with Down Syndrome. Unfortunately, a teacher's salary barely constitutes paying for childcare. I would love the opportunity to share in childcare by helping another family by watching their child/children. I love to get out and make sure children are engaged throughout the day. Andrea (we call her "AD") is awesome with our two girls with Down syndrome. She has become a part of our family, and we love her infectious joy and limitless energy. We trust AD to drive our kids and stay with them over night. She is incredibly responsible and we never worry when she is with our children. I know that she is caring for them as if they were her own. She has even helped me make visual aides and social stories to help with daily routines and life skills. AD is also fluent in ASL! She is the best!!
