About Andrea

I am dependable, organized and compassionate. I like to help kids feel confident and successful in their academic journey. I'm looking for a job that will allow some flexibility with the tutoring days/times. I have taught and tutored on and off since 2000. My niche is teaching reading to pre-K through 2nd, but I was a certified teacher at one point through 5th grade. I have taught VPK, 2nd grade and worked in a K/1st classroom for children with emotional and behavioral disorders. I also homeschooled my daughter when she was in 3rd and 4th grade. These last two years, I have worked as a reading interventionist for K-2nd at an elementary school. One thing you should know about me is that I want to make every child I work have a strong self esteem, as well as feel successful with their academics. My skills include making learning fun, using different teaching styles to meet each child's unique needs and never giving up on a child, as long as they are willing to put in the work.
