Dear Families, My background includes over a decade of child care service in private settings and child-care settings. I have had the opportunity to work with children from infant to school ages which has made me extremely competent in working with multiple children. With comprehensive knowledge and experience in Early childhood education, individualized tutoring, child safety training, developing curriculum and creative ways to help eager learners engage in well balanced play-learn activities, I believe my far reaching skill set will be of value. I thrive in roles where I feel autonomous and self directed whist respecting professional boundaries and policies. Throughout my career, I have consistently demonstrated that I can handle lead roles as well as act as a true partner in achieving common goals. As a childcare enthusiast, analytical thinker with the ability to succeed in fast paced, high energy and changing environments. I believe l will be a good fit for this position
Ahemen was with our family as a full-time nanny for our son from age 8 months until just past 1 year. My husband and I had made the decision to put him in daycare after he turned 1, but we were nervous about how he would take to it since he was so used to being at home and having a very flexible schedule. With her background in daycare, Ahemen was great about working with our son to get him on a nap and eating schedule that resembled what he would experience in daycare. Our son often fought his naps, and Ahemen would frequently (and patiently) push him in his stroller for as long as it took for him to doze off (as this was the only tried and true way to get him to fall asleep when he was younger). Eventually she helped transition him to learn to nap on a crib mattress on the floor (which he would need to do in daycare). Ahemen was quick to change his diapers whenever needed and always helped him to finish his lunch. She intuitively knew that music was a great way to help him calm down when he started to get cranky and took him outside every day (weather permitting) to make sure he got fresh air. She also encouraged his interest in cars and buses with great enthusiasm, scooping him up to look out the window whenever they heard the bus coming around the corner. We were very blessed to have Ahemen with us, even for the short few months, and would certainly recommend her to anyone.
