About Afton

I am 23 years old & live in Portland, ME. I am currently a nursing student and I hold a Registered Medical Assistant certification , as well as previously worked in pediatrics for a year & a half. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and had the privilege to take care of many children everyday. My goal after nursing school is to become a labor & delivery or peds nurse! When I am not studying, I enjoy nature & the outdoors, as well as hanging out at home with my cat Callie. Utilizing nature, as well as arts & crafts for enrichment, & a few fun day trips here & there are some interests I would love to implement with kiddos! Creating a fun, positive environment is the goal. Currently, I think a job best suited for me would be to create a long term connection with a family of one or two children during the weekdays. Communication & kindness are some key points :) I am CPR/Basic life support/First Aid certified & can provide great references.
