About Abigail

Though I have worked most recently in library settings as both Children's Librarian and Events Coordinator, my greatest passion has been and remains teaching writing. I began to teach writing as an undergraduate at SUNY New Paltz as a Peer Writing Assistant, guiding fellow students to make edits, complete revisions, and generate ideas for academic writing assignments. This experience inspired me to work at Thomas Jefferson University as a Writing Consultant after graduating, and later, at Tutor My Success, a Hudson Valley tutoring business. As an English tutor there, I designed one-on-one lessons with middle and high school students to develop their reading comprehension, grammar, academic and creative writing skills, including writing the college essay. All of these experiences together led me to create my very own creative writing group for teens in 2019 called Mid-Hudson Youth Writers (MHYW). We continue to meet weekly, where I lead the group in creative writing exercises.
