About who needs care: 85-year-old living on her own with a small dog in the Plantation in a two bedroom home. My mother is still fairly independent, but she is finding it more and more difficult to live and get around on her own. Her doctor stated that she does not have Alzheimer's, but that she does have dementia symptoms. Thus, she is starting to have more frequent "senior moments" like forgetting where she put things like her TV remote or purse, and she often struggles finding the right word when she speaks, and she is finding it more difficult to perform what used to be simple tasks like how to play cards and how to use the apps/features on her phone, and how to figure out when she should take her medications. She also has bouts with vertigo and drops in blood pressure that make her dizzy. Other than that, she is fairly self-sufficient.
Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
