About who needs care: My mother lives alone and is in her late 70's. She faces challenges with mobility due to leg pain and weakness, but she can manage short distances by relying on a walker, thanks to her upper body strength.
She has some underlying health conditions (heart) but takes her medication and is stable.
She enjoys TMC movie's, making homemade cards and talking (and often referring!) to her past adventures.
Her daily routine typically begins in the mid-afternoon, usually after 3 p.m. At this stage, she could use some help with meal preparation, staying adequately hydrated, and, in the future, perhaps some support getting out of the shower if she feels comfortable with it.
Overall, the level of care required is relatively low. However, having a trusted third party to provide support would bring peace of mind to our family.
About the care needs: The ideal candidate for this position would likely be someone with a bit more life experience and a straightforward approach.
My mother is of average build and requires physical assistance, making strength and prior experience in this area particularly valuable.
Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, companionship, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
