Our eldest child is autistic and nonverbal. He understands what's being said but he will only ever use words for high desire items. He will usually take you by the hand to lead you to what he wants. Glass of water/snacks. He's always playful and loves being silly, he is also non aggressive. Second child is a typical 18-month-old.
