About who needs care: Annette is a survivor of a stroke that has caused paralysis on the left side of her body. She has mobility issues, needs help transferring from chair to wheelchair to toilet and back. We would be looking for help to get her out of bed in the morning, into the bathroom, getting dressed and getting to the table for yogurt and cheese for breakfast. Next she will need to be taken to the bathroom. She can handle her business, but needs help pulling clothes on and off. After the bathroom she either goes to her computer for a while or to the couch to watch TV. After that she needs water and snacks occasionally, and to go to the bathroom every couple hours. Annette also is a little difficult to understand sometimes, but she has a good attitude and a great heart. About the care needs: You have to have patience to work with Annette in her time, be willing to work to understand her, and have the skill to help her walk and transfer to sitting positions and the bathroom. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
