We seek a weekend caregiver/companion for our 87-year-old mother. She is easygoing and quite social but suffers from dementia, so she has a poor memory and does not easily make decisions. Her daily activities include doing jigsaw puzzles, word search, taking walks, listening to music, napping, and watching the Padres or other sports on tv. We want someone who can share in these activities, make her meals or snacks as needed, take her for a walk, etc. At times you will need to proactively direct the flow of activities. My wife and I are my mother's primary caregivers and share the house with her and our small dog. We'd like someone with experience in senior care/memory issues, who likes dogs, enjoys jigsaw puzzles, and can be a compassionate companion. Hours are somewhat flexible and may vary from 5 - 8 hours a day on Sat. and/or Sun.
