My mother-in-law is entering the severe stages of dementia, and we need a caregiver to help her with activities of daily living, including hygiene, dealing with urinary incontinence, occasional bathing, changing bed, some feeding, and laundry. She lives with her partner, but he is also frail and unable to keep up with the increasing demands of her care. She is kind and still communicative, and can walk slowly, but most of her time is spent sleeping or resting. She would also appreciate some companionship and encouragement to spend time in the back yard during visits. The house is old, situated on an acre of land, and three old dogs live there. Preferences for a caregiver who is comfortable in that environment, CPR / first-aid trained, and ideally who has experience with patiently caring for a person with dementia.
