About who needs care: Female patient 59 years old with type 1 diabetes and multiple sclerosis. Cannot walk or stand. Has some use of hands and arms. Needs assistance bathing dressing, eating, going to bathroom. Husband is always present as care requires 2 people for lifting, transfers, toilet, etc. Husband does all cooking for patient. Patient watches news channel on tv and listens to radio all day and needs assistance with remote control. Caregiver is needed from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. with appropriate breaks as needed. Caregiver will be required to check patient's blood sugar 8 or so times throughout day. About the care needs: Caregiver must have a patient and kind personality. Patient has some memory issues. Caregiver must be strong to help lift patient. She is 160 pounds. patient watches news and politics, etc all day. listens to multiple shows at once. caregiver must be comfortable with that. Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, bathing / dressing, and mobility assistance.
