About who needs care: My mother just got diagnosed with stage 4 liver disease. It is a non-reversible condition that will degenerate her life. She has no real hobbies or interests and watches TV most of the day. Her condition causes a number of symptoms from * Effects brain through memory loss and cognitive thinking * tiredness and weakness. * loss of appetite. * feeling sick (nausea) and vomiting. * tenderness or pain around the liver area. * yellowing of the skin and the whites of the eyes (jaundice) * swelling of the ankles Some of the symptoms require doctor attention. About the care needs: She has nobody to talk to, so sometimes likes to talk and in that respect is social She's old and can be grumpy at times. Its more of a cultural thing than personal. I'm her son and she's grumpy with me all the time. We really need someone who can tolerate that and also respond with a positive attitude. I would say the grumpy side comes out 2-3 times a day, but is not a persistent thing No real specialized skill. The main challenge is that she is having difficulty maintaining her stool. She can go to the bathroom and often cleans herself, but may need help in that area as time progresses. When accidents do occur, we would need help with throwing the cloths in the laundry for wash. Services needed include: transportation, meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, and mobility assistance.

I recently broke my arm and I am a stay at home mom with a 2-year-old girl. I desperately need help taking care of her at home for the next several weeks while I recover since I am limited physically.
