I have always loved small children, infants, and toddlers. As a teenager, my favorite part-time job was babysitting. One of my best friends gave birth to my first godson nearly 6 years ago. I fell in love instantly. She has since given me another godson. I see both children regularly. My sister also had two children within the past three and a half years. As she is a single mother, I spent all of my time taking care of the children. I feel like I played a great role in raising them until my sister unfortunately had to move away. Each of the four children in my life have very different personalities, so I feel like I can handle anything. Additionally, my husband and I have 7 nieces and nephews among our friends. It's a wonderful feeling to know that I am everyone's "favorite aunt!" I have a Bachelors Degree in Secondary Mathematics Education. I have taught calculus and other high-level math classes in lee county since 2014. While I enjoy my job teaching and helping children, I strongly dislike all of the politics that come with the job. I feel as though I have a better experience with infants, toddlers, and younger children. They are so impressionable at that young of an age, and I have always been a strong and positive role model. I have also taken many child psychology classes in college, so I know appropriate techniques for caring for and playing with children at each stage of life. I can think of nothing more fun than to care for your child!

I have 10+ years' experience as a caregiver for seniors, specializing in assisting Alzheimer's patients and seniors with special needs, specifically intellectual disabilities. I am interested in providing part-time home health and/or respite care for families Mondays through Fridays. I am certified to administer medications by the State of Tennessee as a Non-Licensed Medical Professional. I am a Direct Service Professional who has extensive experience as a Team Leader in residential home healthcare settings. I am also certified in Adult CPR and First Aid by the American Red Cross. I have a fondness for seniors and enjoy the wisdom, history and knowledge they impart. I have experience with individuals ranging in age from 45 to 82, and have enjoyed assisting them with basic nutrition and mealtime preparation, bathing and dressing and additional personal care as needed. I also assist with housekeeping, medication administration, grocery shopping and errands, doctor's appointments and companionship. As a caregiver, I am seeking a position in which I can assist senior citizens and their families to improve the quality of their lives.

I have a deep desire to help people in need, people whose lives have been turned upside down by a disease, or relative disease conflict. My job to me is so much deeper than just helping, it is about caring and doing the right thing, which makes all the difference. I was a certified nursing assistant and worked in a long term care facility for a year before I started nursing school. In this facility I learned that I cannot change what happens in a person's life, but I can make a difference in his or her despair. You get a tremendous amount of responsibility and when you see your patients improve, you know it is because of what you did. Now I am a senior nursing student in East Tennessee State University. There, I spend the majority of my third year taking care of older adults. I also been taking care of my grandmother who is 82 for more than 5 years. I assist her with her daily activities such as bathing and dressing. Support her while walking or doing motion exercises.
