I have a long history of childcare dating back to middle school which has culminated in a degree in Communications and Elementry Education from Belmont University and years of experience including Babysitting, Summer Camps, and Teaching positions. I have 30+ years experience caring for and teaching children of all ages including twins, large groups and neurodiverse and differently abled children. But my true love is working with infants. I incorporate music and storytelling into my work as I feel it is integral to development of language & emotional intelligence. I bring my music instrument called an "autoharp" to every job. I am CPR certified and have extensive training in first aid and water safety. I have my own car with a 3rd row seat and a great driving record. Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, I also work part-time teaching world music and dance at music camps and festivals. My work is featured in the International Bluegrass Music Museum. Hi there! My name is Lisa, I'm 25 years old and I just moved to LA from Nashville, TN. I have a BS in Mass Communications & Music Business from Belmont University and have been caring for children ages 6 weeks-15 years for the past 10 years. I started out as a camp counselor at a horse back riding camp where I ended up being the assistant director of the Pony Pal camp, which was 15 children ages 5-7. I also worked as a floater, caring for ages 6 weeks-10 years. In the infant room, I was responsible for 3 babies on my own, and in the toddler room, 6 toddlers on my own. I have also had several nanny jobs with individual families. My first was a summer live-in position for a 3-month-old little boy. I then became a nanny during the school year for 7-year-old twins. The following year I worked an after school position for a 4-year-old girl and her 7-year-old brother. During my college career, I babysat for two families-one was an 18-month-old little girl. When she was three, the family adopted a 10-month-old and I cared for both of them. The other was a 3-month-old little girl. When she was two the family had a son and I cared for them both until the girl was 3 and the boy was 1. I still babysit for them whenever I am home to visit my family. In the past, my responsibilities have included, meal preparing/serving meal, nap time, transportation to and from activities/school, planning activities, bottles, diapers, dishes, laundry, etc. Right now I am looking for both consistent work and occasional babysitting opportunities and my schedule is flexible. I am a Nashville native who loves adventure. While living in Nashville I loved to find cool new place to go hiking with friends or to explore hearing the latest band play at a local Nashville venue. I have also explored delving into the whole singing songwriting for a time:) My passion since living in NASHVILLE has been working with children and doing music on the side! I have loved on and cared for the tiniest little ones to the older tots. I love being able to be around children for the joy they share and excitement they have for life! I take great pride in being someone a parent can trust and being given the opportunity to get to know your children. I have been a nanny for many families and worked in the infant room of a daycare, having 8 babies between two teachers. For the past 20 years, I've cared for children in 25+ families including being a full time nanny for two newborns starting at 3 weeks old, weekly night and overnight babysitting, and anything and everything else! I also spent 5 years as an outreach coordinator for a local Reserve where I went to schools and events to teach all ages about local wildlife, hiking opportunities, and conservation. I have been babysitting and working at a church's childcare program since I was about 13 years old. From little babysitting gigs to being a camp counselor at a camp and teaching English at a kindergarten in Thailand, I have seen a variety of ages and I love every minute of my time with children.
