Late summertime is wonderful for arts and crafts in the backyard, letting your curiosity run wild on nature explorations, and looking for insects under the shade of trees. If the idea of those activities brings you joy, then you'll love being a nanny for this Chapel Hill family with two children! Starting this September, they are looking for an engaging nanny partner to support care of their imaginative 5-year-old daughter and their easy-going 2-year-old son. The mom is a dentist with an alternating M-Th and Tues-Fri schedule, so every other week you'll enjoy the work/life balance of a 4 day weekend.
On the four days you're with the children, they are in school starting at 9 AM each morning. Their daughter is in school from 9-12 (or 1 depending on the day), while their son is in school from 9 until 3:30. The morning would be a time you'd complete household management duties like the children's laundry, dishes, and light meal prep. Once you pick them up from school, you'll transition two eager kiddos into enrichment activities like playground visits, art, museum time, reading, and imaginative play! You'll occasionally transport their oldest to gymnastics, for example, but overall will have the magic of the afternoon hours to introduce them to the wonders of the world around them. The family values letting their children safely explore, and would love a nanny partner to be an extension of themselves in explaining the "why" behind desired behaviors.
This schedule will be in place for a year before they transition their oldest to Kindergarten in the Fall of 2024, and they'd love to find someone who would like to be with their family long term. A candidate that is flexible to provide care over teacher work days or sick days is important, as is someone comfortable with working around potential camp schedules for their children next summer. This family is very collaborative and trusts a proactive personality, so someone that is loving, creative, gentle, and dependable will be a great fit!
