Having a lot of trouble motivating our third-grader to read which has caused a significant delay these past few years and still trying to capture the basics in order to progress. We have tried resources like learning platforms, Learning Center, Sight Word exercises, ABC Mouse, Our son has an IEP and is receiving reading services from School District as well for dyslexic tendencies. We are looking for an experienced reading coach to help motivate our child to work on phonics and provide that individualize attention required to coach toward success. Hello, my son has been in virtual school and I need help getting him caught up with sight words, early math, reading. I work at home so I stay super busy and need to ensure he is ready for 1st grade after being at home for a year. He is 6 years old and very bright. He is also very kind. He does not misbehave much but he is hyper and talkative. The right person will know how to connect with him, redirect his focus back to the work and help him retain that foundational learning so he can enter first grade with confidence. My son is an active, thoughtful, creative 10-year-old who is struggling with reading. He has been in speech therapy since 1st grade (going into 5th) and struggles with his pronunciation and reading confidence. If a passage is too long or intimidating, he will skip over it and not attempt to answer the questions. When we try and work on things at home, he gets frustrated and shuts down.
