BUILDING A TRUSTING RELATIONSHIP WITH TWO AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD RESCUES.

Part Time
We have 2 Australian Shepherds. They are both rescues and had been severely abused before they were rescued. Kooper is a 4-year-old male. He is 100% Aussie. He is extremely smart and athletic. He loves to learn and be challenged. He is also very protective of the house, yard and Mama. Koop is afraid of men(especially if they are wearing a hat), brooms and other things like that and loud noises. He gets startled easily. Gibson is a 5-year-old female. She is a Double Merle and is blind. She has no eyeballs. She is smart, strong willed and very fearful. She gets very scared when she hears a new sound or smells a new scent. Our end-goal is for someone to be able to care for our dogs for a day or for overnight. We are looking for someone who can commit to slowly build a relationship with our dogs so the person can get to know our dogs and for our dogs to get to know you. For example: STEP ONE-come once a week for an hour to spend time indoors with the dogs with us there. STEP TWO-come once a week for an hour to spend time indoors with the dogs with us there without us there. STEP THREE-come once a week for an hour to spend time outdoors with the dogs with us there. STEP FOUR-come once a week for an hour to spend time outside with the dogs without us there. STEP FIVE-come once a week and walk the dogs, with us, then without. STEP SIX-care for the dogs alone for a short time, then extend that time until the person can care for them overnight. The dogs need to progress at their own pace. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERDS OR OTHER HERDING BREEDS. EXPERIENCE WITH BLIND DOGS OR DOGS WITH OTHER PHYSICAL CHALLENGES A PLUS. PATIENCE AND LOW ENERGY A MUST.
