Full Time
We are seeking senior care providers with experience for my mother who is recovering from a stroke. We would like someone she can trust to help her work through physical therapy exercises, keep her company, and assist her with personal care during the day. At night, we require someone who can help her settle for the night and who will be available to help her with any needs that arise during the night. Our care concerns are: Light Housekeeping, Mobility Assistance, Bathing / Dressing, Companionship.
This job is 24/7 care, so we will be hiring a team of caregivers to handle all the hours necessary.
My mother will need help brushing her teeth, washing her face, and brushing her hair each morning. She will need a bed bath each day as well and a fresh change of clothes. She has various therapists visiting, and she will need someone to help her work through her therapy homework exercises when she is out of therapy sessions. She eats every four hours and is currently taking small meals by mouth along with a small tube feeding. A family member is usually on hand to help with meals and to give her medications. Throughout the day, she also needs someone to take her outside for some sunshine, conversation to help her recover her speaking skills, someone to help her transfer to and from her wheelchair, opportunities to engage in hobbies like puzzles and crafts, and someone to help her with personal hygiene, as she is currently incontinent.

We're looking for someone who is able to take initiative to move my mother through her day, someone who is confident in their skills as a caregiver, and someone who is patient and caring, as my mother is working to regain strength and mobility in her right arm and leg and is working through the process of gaining back command of her speech. She often has anxiety, so someone with a calm and confident demeanor will be ideal.
Her home is accessible via personal vehicle. Public transportation does not run in their area.
My parents have no pets.
