About who needs care: Our mother has hallucination from the advancement of her Parkinson's disease. These hallucinations often make it difficult for her to get ready for bed as she feels people need help or she is in conversations with people, so we need someone who can eat with her and gently encourage her to get ready for bed and go to bed. We prefer someone who is willing to prepare a light meal for her and eat with her.
About the care needs: Mom loves to propagate plants and give starts to people. Distracting her from the hallucinations by talking about her plants or grandchildren is a good strategy. She needs someone who is consistent and patient. The hallucinations are real to our mother, so we never try to convince her the people are not there, but do attempt to distract her.
Services needed include: meal preparation, errands / shopping, light housekeeping, feeding, and bathing / dressing.
