Hello, I'm a well-experienced academic tutor for SHSAT, SAT (Math and Verbal), K-12 Math (including Algebra1, 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus) and other individual subjects. I have been an independent tutor for 8+ years and am part of a Test Prep center as well. My reputation in the community has been excellent and I tailor my teaching methods and pace based on individual student's needs. My teaching philosophy is making sure the material is well-taught enough for my students to be able to re-teach it to me. I am patient and understanding, and I use positive reinforcement to make sure my students build their confidence and reach their true potential. I like to have a friendly environment and make my students feel comfortable and eager to learn. I care about efforts more than the actual score, so as long my students are putting their best foot forward, I am happy. Zina is an incredible tutor. Patient and flexible with my child's schedule. My 9th grader was struggling with math and I couldn't help. With just the 1st couple of sessions her scores had doubled. My child went from 22 on her 1st exam to passing her regents with an 86. Zina also helped test prep for a science regents which my child also passed in the mid 80s.
