About Zakiya

Hi families! I'm Zakiya, I am currently a K-2 Special Education Teacher and am pursuing my master's degrees in Exceptional Education and Social Work. I graduated from SUNY Buffalo State with a bachelor's degree and have dedicated my career to working with children, which has always been my passion. I have over 10 years of experience working with children in a variety of settings. My experience includes teaching at The Summit Center, working as a behavioral therapist with Autism Learning Partners, teaching and caring for children with special needs, working at a daycare as the director, and leading programs for children ages 5-8 through Just for Kids. I also have extensive nanny experience, caring for children as young as 3 weeks old. I am CPR, First Aid certified, and MAT trained, have reliable transportation, and am committed to creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where every child can learn, grow, and thrive.
