I spent most of my working life as a CNA in in home care. I went to Nursing School and became an RN but due to an illness I had to give up nursing. I have decided to go back to my true love. In home care. I feel honored to share in a families end of life journey. I especially like working individuals with Alzheimer's and dementia. Videos of a client during a coherent moment can be very comforting to families. I also work with individuals with mobility issues where 100% care is needed. I do not take clients over 150 lbs. These are some highlights of my skills. We are not at our best when we are sick. It's just a fact. We get grumpy and ornery and sometimes just downright pissed off. Being sick isn't fair. It's just as important to honor these difficult emotions and times as well as the good times. I strive to treat the whole person. The good the bad and the ugly. Nobody likes poop and nobody likes a grump. But they happen, and it's ok. All of it can be dealt with with dignity.
