About Yonglee

My first name is Yonglee, but I go by my middle name, Debbie. I hold a degree in Fine Arts from both Penn State & San Jose State University. A transplant from the Bay Area, I recently relocated to Southern Highlands. I am an advocate for children's education, especially during the crucial early years. With 65% of children unable to read proficiently by 4th grade & 7th graders reading at a 4th grade level, I am deeply committed to helping students build strong educational foundations. I view tutoring as a temporary but impactful means to equip students w/ the guidance & tools they need to thrive independently. As a children's book writer & illustrator, I bring creativity & engagement to my tutoring sessions. I tutor children ages 5 to 14 in reading & writing comprehension, art, math and science.
