About Yolanda

I'm a retired elementary teacher from Ecuador, I am fluent in Spanish and I have experience working with children 5-12 y. In my spare time, I like to walk and read. I started tutoring when I saw the need of children for individual attention. I worked the last 10 years in the United States as nanny/ tutor for pre-schooled, school aged children. I have experience using the Montessori method to help kids discover and develop their learning abilities. I'm looking for a job that matches my knowledge and experience to help children succeed. My skills include careful planning activities and lessons prepared individually for each child in accordance with their needs. My approach to teach language will be using different methods to make fun and grow the interest in learning, with an emphasis on Spanish speaking with NO English language speaking each class. I believe that planning fun activities it's important to maintain children's attention span and desire of learning.
