About Ying

Hello! I am a 23-year-old experienced after-school tutor for young kids. I have tutored 4th and 5th graders on Math and English and Science. I'd describe my personality as communicative, empathetic, uplifting. I started tutoring in high school volunteering weekly for my after-school tutoring center. I've also worked as a student programmer & tutor for the Boys and Girls Club of Illinois tutoring 4th and 5th graders in classrooms of 15. In my spare time, I like to go to Chicago's local chess tournaments, read books, visit different cafes, knitting, and hang out with my friends. My skills include teaching Math, English, and Science. teaching kids in a manner that is efficient for them to understand. Each student learns differently. Some are visual learners like myself, and others learn by being hands-on. Often times I find myself drawing graphs and pictures, or using objects to animate how to solve a problem so my students can understand how to find the solution.
