I am a retired professional who has worked at the national and international levels and now prefer to spend time with children - love their curiosity, their vibrancy, and silliness. I have been taking care of kids since I was pre-teen - so a long time- and have two grown daughters and an almost 3-year-old granddaughter. I love to play and yet believe in boundaries for children. I value learning from them and teaching them what I know. I enjoy inside and outside activities, know what it's like to be a full time parent (single parent too!) and work full time. I believe it takes a village to raise healthy children.

Virginia babysat our 1 month old for 6 hours. Biggest issue was that she did not listen to us. She fed him when it wasn’t time to feed, she put him to bed hours before his bed time and got him off his schedule, she didn’t use the correct sound machine, and didn’t swaddle him correctly, leaving his arms free to wake him. She might be good for older kids, but if you need to keep a child on their schedule or you care about your babysitter following your easy guidelines, I wouldn’t recommend Virginia.
