About Victoria

I'm a retired school teacher of elementary and early childhood age students of 34 years. I have raised 2 children of 27 and 29 years of age. I've a lot of experience with tutoring in reading and language arts and homework help. I'd describe my personality as energetic, active and friendly. Working with kids is rewarding and enjoyable. I'm looking for a job that I can fit into my schedule. I substitute a couple days a week. I started working with kids when I babysat in my late teens and early 20's. In my spare time, I like to play with my bernedoodles and walk them at least 2 miles a day. I like to read, swim and garden in the warm weather. I walk in cold weather, too. I'm highly experienced. I enjoy engaging and interacting with kids by helping them learn. My skills include being attentive to the whole child. I enjoy helping them with skills they are struggling to learn. Positive reinforcement is used to help them feel a sense of success so they can build confidence.
