I am queer & non-binary (they/them pronouns) and conversational in Spanish. I have extensive experience babysitting and as a teacher's assistant in my teens and 20s. I currently have 2 dogs, but have had cats and rodents in the past. I'm comfortable with all animals. I've spent the last 10 years as a union organizer, empowering hospitality workers to have a voice on the job. One of my passions is to empower people to fully live and express their authentic selves. Now I am taking some time to figure out my next steps, career-wise. I would love to build a relationship with a family or two along the way.

Vicky provided childcare services for our 6-year-old son between fall 2021 and spring 2022- picking him up from school and driving him to his swimming class or back home for activity time until the end of the work day. Vicky instantly hit it off with our son during their initial interview, and went above and beyond in their time together. They leaned into our son's interests in Lego and Rubik's Cubes and found novel parks around the city to visit with him, including a skate park which appeased our son's interest in parkour. When playing with our son, Vicky brought a consistent presence of mind and openness that made him comfortable expressing his feelings, role-playing, and world-building. Vicky was always punctual and successfully picked him up on time and navigated Chicago's afternoon traffic. On several occasions they were able to jump in and help off-days on short notice. Vicky was a great asset to our family this past year, and I would gladly recommend them to any other family.
