We had the good fortune of meeting Veronica through Care.com in our search for backup caregivers, since occasionally one of my wife's regular team of caregivers can't make it and we need a last-minute substitute. She came highly recommended and she has the qualifications and high level of experience we need to feel secure. My wife is in recovery from a stroke, and is physically almost fully dependent, so she requires full bed-level care and Hoyer lift transfers. From day one, Veronica demonstrated her competency in action in all regards, and she has since become a regular substitute caregiver in our home. She is kind, attentive and personable, and truly brings a sense of calm and ease into our day. She is also quite capable in the kitchen; we enjoy the wonderful meals she prepares for us. When things are quiet, she always offers to help with other tasks where she notices a need. We are grateful to have had Veronica's assistance many times by now, and will continue to call on her when needed and as long as she is available. We would also seriously consider her for regular shifts if that possibility opens up in the future.
