I began my caregiver journey for family members through state programs. My Father with Parkinson's as well as a brother recovering from 2nd and 3rd degree burns over 69% of his body. In 2006 I became a companion caregiver and was there during her hospice journey until 2011. I become another companion/transportation provider again later in 2011 for a wheelchair bound gentleman and as as his needs increased my time and responsibilities increased. I believe we became more like family over the years and was there again throughout his hospice journey that came to a close in April of 2024. I am easy to get along with, take direction well and enjoy a good sense of humor.

Vanessa cared for my father for over 13-years in his home after he suffered a stroke. She helped him with his daily life tasks (bathing, meals, household cleaning), took him to appointments and was a social lifeline for him. As his health declined over the years, Vanessa took on more responsibilities and was considered a cherished part of our family. She was my dad’s “person” and was with him throughout his hospice journey. My dad experienced a better quality of life thanks to Vanessa’s care, sense of humor, and companionship.
