About Valerie

I'd describe my personality as attentive, respectful, and empathetic. I like working with kids because I believe that I get along with them very well, I enjoy spending time with them, and because I want to be a pediatrician in the future. I'm looking for a job that understands that my first commitment is school (flexibility) and a job that provides me with a healthy environment. I started working with kids when the COVID-19 pandemic first hit. I was tutoring a 6-year-old autistic child who needed some additional help with math and reading skills. I then volunteered as a tutor in 2021 in Tanzania, where I taught children about HIV transmission, malaria, math, and Swahili. In my spare time, I like to run, read, dance, spend time with family and my dog. One thing you should know about me that I am perseverante, so I will give the most out of me to ensure that a child understands something and feels safe.
