Experience: 19 yrs
Making a difference in the lives of adults and seniors is my calling. For 19 years, I've been a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant and Certified Home Health Aide. I am patient, compassionate, and approachable, and I understand the importance of earning your trust. I provide respite care, transportation, personal care, and more. I am experienced in memory care, including de-escalating stressful situations and incorporating engaging activities. I communicate with families through written reports and verbal updates, always following your preferred method. I am also trained in CPR and First Aid. I'm eager to bring my skills and caring heart to your family, offering peace of mind and support for your loved ones. I have chosen this field because it is my passion it is not just a job. I have cared for individuals who needed care on many levels from memory care to end of life care. My passion allows me to give 100% of trust, and quality care to each and every client.
Valerie is truly working within her calling! I will be forever grateful to Valerie for providing such wonderful care for my mother, especially as my mother declined in her final days. What I initially concluded would be a very short assignment unexpectedly escalated into around-the-clock care. Yet it was a seamless transition, with Valerie quickly cultivating a sense of trust with my mother and establishing a routine thar brought about comfort and normalcy. Valerie also helped translate the medical lingo that often goes unexplained while navigating a crisis and advocated for my mother’s wishes along with her care. Because of Valerie’s years of expertise, she was able to integrate her own sleep patterns with my mom’s needs in order to provide continuous 24/7 care. Because of her skill, it also afforded respite care, which helped me to also be able to rest and manage my family’s affairs. Beyond providing professional skills like charting vitals and documenting progress, there were also those special soft skills that respect a patient’s humanity. Valerie talked to Mom, explaining every task she was to do before she performed it. She asked Mom for permission and gave my mother space to be frustrated or sad. Valerie recognized my mother’s autonomy and didn’t cause unnecessary stress by forcing or insisting. Instead, she listened and found different ways to accomplish tasks while respecting her client’s wishes. She truly worked for my mother’s well-being. Valerie also directly, clearly and honestly communicated with my mother and with the family. Even through the most difficult experiences, Valerie maintained an exceptional standard of care. She was a constant force – steady and comforting while exhibiting a love and joy that can only come through a clear understanding of one’s purpose. Valerie stayed at my mother’s bedside as she transitioned through her last moments and prepared our family as to how to usher my mother’s calling home. Valerie is angel and I will forever be grateful for her care. If you require care for your loved one, I cannot give a higher recommendation than Valerie. She is worthy of your trust.
