About Uma

I'd describe my personality as outgoing, creative, and responsible. I like working with kids because they teach me something new every time I interact with them. I have always loved showing kids how to think creatively and experience activities beyond screens and technology. I'm looking for a job that is part-time. I would like to tutor as well as babysit, and I am willing to do some light chores around the house. I started working with kids in middle school, as a babysitter and mother's assistant. I later began working for Leadership Initiatives, an academic nonprofit that created summer internship experiences for middle and high school students. I worked as a staff member for 3 years, managing the program and mentoring the children. In my spare time, I like to read, hike, rock climb and craft. One thing you should know about me is I am very responsible and very energetic when working with children. My skills include problem solving, leadership, and enthusiasm.
