About Tyra

Hello all! My name is Tyra, I am a 25-year-old experienced infant, toddler, and adolescent caregiver with a combined experience of about 10 years. My journey with children began with my god siblings and younger cousins (ages 0-15), taking care of all major babysitting duties. In 2019, my amazing niece was born prematurely & was diagnosed with Criduchat syndrome (5p- syndrome). She has not been able to consume foods or liquids orally, allowing me to have a lot of experience with NG, OG, and G tubes! In other relevance, since 2017 I have had the privilege to closely counsel & mentor adolescents from Oakland, Ca whom have struggled with substance dependency, diagnosed mental health issues, exploitation, etc. I currently work at a psychiatric hospital for adolescents and with all of my experience my dream is to create a non profit organization for unhoused as well as housed children. Educating them on mental health, daily living skills, communication skills, and more! Thank you
