About Turk

We brought Turk on board to care for our 32-year-old son with severe autism after we had exhausted every option we could think of. We hired some of the best psychologists, tried multiple esteemed therapists and specialists, and nothing seemed to help. Our son had refused to shower for over a year. Because he was an adult living independently, we couldn't force him into treatment, and we were getting close to making decisions that we knew would be incredibly traumatic for him and heartbreaking for us. Eventually, the impossible happened. Our son showered for the first time in over a year. But more importantly, he started reconnecting with the world around him. We got glimpses of the son we thought we had lost. Even after Turk left New York City, he has still maintained a relationship with us and our son via phone calls and texts bi-weekly, and we pray for a visit when he’s in NYC again.
