I'm a mother of adult children and a Nana now to two young ones. I've moved to Eugene to be near family and reconvene my part-time natural health practice. Family connection, health, and nature underscore my values. Because each child is so unique in how they move in the world and interact with it- some as natural extroverts, some as introverts, some are a little of both-each needs to be noticed, uniquely. And listened to. Everyone needs both fun and quiet. Predictable rhythms to a day as well as variety. I'm a warm, gentle, and enthusiastic person- creative but also logical. To me, communication is critically important for success - for me to understand what expectations are, what predictable triggers are, and what are usual soothings. Families have different cultures on how they nurture, encourage, and deal with upsets and self responsibility. It's important to me to have good communication with both parents and children so that we can get in sync and enjoy each other.
If you want someone who will intentionally spend time with, connect, care for, teach, and seek the well being of your kids, Tracy is at the top of my list of recommendations. She will encourage healthy activities for them and I have no doubt will help them grow in beautiful ways. I really love how Tracy interacts with kids. She is incredible with them. We have 5 kiddos (ranging in ages from 3 to 11 when we met). Tracy is so intentional and present when she is with you (this includes both adults and kids) and is so gracious to think the best about people. Several of our kids have very big emotions and struggle with being too chaotic. When a child is having a hard time or is doing something that is not safe or helpful, Tracy handles it in the most precious way. She is compassionate and asks good questions to understand what the child was thinking or feeling, but she also teaches the child in a simple, nonjudgmental way. It’s such a beautiful example of how you can advocate for yourself or others and help others grow in a way that feels both safe and kind. I have seen her step in so many times to redirect or teach my kids when something they were doing wasn’t helpful or safe (or even if there was a misunderstanding between kids), but in the midst of all of that, I have never heard her shame a child, but rather helped them process and understand the other point of view, why something isn’t a safe choice, or how it impacts others. Tracy has a lot of skills and tools in being with kids. She is present, genuinely interested, caring, and incredibly good at bringing out the best in kids. I highly recommend her!
