About Tobi

I am a certified Adolescent English teacher and certified teacher of the Deaf and hard-of-hearing. I will soon be certified in K-12 literacy as well. I am available to tutor students in middle school and high school ELA as well as students of all ages who are below grade level in reading and need literacy support. I have experience with students who are d/Deaf or hard-of-hearing, students with ADHD, students with learning disabilities, and students with delays in reading. My tutoring approach is flexible depending on the student's needs, and may range from homework help, to previewing and reviewing class topics, to targeted literacy intervention. I am a friendly, curious, and practical person. As a teacher, I am patient and flexible, with a deep understanding of the subject matter. I enjoy helping students reach their full potential and develop a love of learning and reading. In my spare time, I like to read, draw, play games, and take care of my cat, plants, and ant farm.
