I have had the privilege of watching children for people over my junior high and high school years. My first big experience was when I was 14, and watched three boys, ages four, six, and eight every weekdays, from 7:00 a.m. to about 3 or 4 in the afternoon. I have also watched babies and small children for ladies in my church whenever they needed a date night or had errands or work. I was able to help with after-school care for some of my teachers' kids through high school as well. I specifically had a job taking three girls home for a single mother after school on certain days in high school, and also spent the night with them on numerous occasions because their mother was out of town on business. My most recent experience was being a live-in nanny through care. com for eight months!
