About Taylor Ann

Taylor is my daughter, who helped me in our church nursery, until she was old enough to do it on her own. The same with her working with the toddlers at our church. Taylor also volunteers her time with me at an ARC, which is a nonprofit agency that serves people with cognitive disabilities. She and I will help at the annual Christmas Party, where we serve food, interact with the clients, and just have fun with the great clients that we serve. She also helps with the annual fundraising dinner with the set up and decorations. We have been doing this together since 2003, when I became a Board Member. Taylor has also has been a positive role model for a young man with autism and behavioral issues, for the last 10 years. She has gone on outings, played with him at home, and has become one of his close friends, and is able to communicate with him through sign language, since this young man is nonverbal. Their are not to many young girls that would give up their time to spend with young people or adults who have cognitive disabilities. However Taylor realizes that they are people just like us, who want friendships just like us! Taylor is a very responsible and mature young lady who continues to amaze me with her acceptance and willingness to volunteer at our church and an ARC. Her natural love and patience for children and people with disabilities, certainly show how mature this young lady is. And as her mother, makes me very proud! Terri
