About Tara

Hi, my name is Tara and I am a grad student looking for part-time work. I have a B. S. in Conservation and a minor in forestry, and I am currently a PhD student studying forest and fire ecology and policy. Before grad school, I taught at LA County Outdoor Science School (primarily 4th-6th grade) and worked summers doing forest ecology research. I come from a family of educators, so really, I've been babysitting and tutoring since I was around 12 years old. I am comfortable tutoring all K-8 subjects and probably most high school subjects (except maybe physics and some higher-level math). I would also be happy to help with SAT prep and college applications. In particular, I think my strengths are in biology, environmental science, history, and English/writing. I am more than willing to try to help kids who require extra care and attention, and I am open to learning subjects not listed - please just reach out and explain your situation and we can decide if we're a good fit!
