About Tabitha

I am a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Dominican Republic, working with teachers, students, and community members as a Spanish Literacy Promoter and will be back in the USA in November after 27 months abroad. I am a certified elementary school teacher (K-6). I got my degree in elementary education as a Teaching Fellow at Elon University and student taught in 4th grade in North Carolina, in addition to multiple internships at local elementary schools over 4 years. In both the US and the DR (and therefore in English and Spanish,) I have privately tutored students who are struggling, particularly with reading, from ages K-4th grade. I think kids do best when they know 1) that you love them and care about them, and 2) what you expect of them. I am looking for regular or occasional work for Nov and Dec before I move to NYC in January. I would love to talk to you about caring for your children!
