About Tabita

We could not be happier with Tabita, and give her the highest possible recommendation. She started working with us when our son was 4 months old (the end of my maternity leave) and has been his nanny and best friend for the last six months. Unfortunately, we are moving out of state - otherwise I expect we’d have been happy for her to continue working with us until our (still-hypothetical) second child is ready for preschool. My husband and I both work from home, and—while three adults and a baby in Manhattan is close quarters—Tabita has helped us manage it as smoothly as possible. Within a week, Tabita knew our son’s routine and the location of his clothes/toys/gear as well as I did (plus had some excellent organizational suggestions for these first-time parents!). By the end of her second week with us, our son adored her and would get so excited in the mornings when she arrived. She always makes sure he is happy and exploring new things, whether it’s watching the bigger kids on the playground, taking him to music classes (her idea), bringing him to the museum, trying new fruits and veggies they buy on their walks and she brings home to prep, or just reading to him and trying to encourage him to crawl at home (though he seems to want to go straight to running). And we love that she sends us pictures and videos of him enjoying the day while they’re out. We find Tabita’s approach the perfect mix of organized and flexible. She tailors their activity for the day to our son’s mood and energy level, and texts us a summary what they did, when he ate and napped, etc. We trust her completely with our son and in our home (she set our mind at ease early on by sharing her location while on their walks, taking lots of pictures, bringing receipts when she used the cash we gave her to pick up food, etc). But most importantly: our son loves her and she loves him - so obviously that even the little old ladies at the park or friends looking at pictures comment on how happy and loved he looks. Tabita, we will miss you so much, and wish you the best finding a new family to work with who appreciates you as much as you deserve.
