About Suzanne

I started my education career in 1996 teaching elementary level science to students who were grouped for 'severe emotional disturbance' in NYC. I have since taught students from ages 2-21 in formal and informal educational settings, with various diagnoses and no diagnoses, with high IQ's and with low IQ's. I have worked with students from several linguistic and cultural backgrounds. In recent years I have worked predominantly with children and young adults building social, communication and literacy skills. Currently I am teaching English to children in China online on a part-time basis. I have served in the US Peace Corps in Jordan and can speak a bit of Arabic. I have also studied French and Spanish, but am not proficient in either. My degrees are in unrelated fields. I have long planned to shift in environmental advocacy work, but I love working with young people and have continued to teach and coach.
